ornamental christmas

I made this card using a notecard from a $1 pack I found at Michaels(see pic on right), I just cut out the ornament and embellished it. I stamped swirls with versamark and embossed in gold tinsel to make the background paper coordinate with the ornament. The panel the greeting is on is just white CS that I stamped and embossed the greeting on, then I used my scor-pal to make embossed edges. I smudged gold ink all around it, and then used a gold gel pen to make the dots all around the edge, and embellished the corners with a little bling!

Cat Love

soon! I colored these cats like this because I have 2 cats, Tigger, a HUGE orange tiger striped cat, and Syris, a regular sized, super fluffy gray cat! they are my babies! In case you can't read what I wrote on the card, it says:
in my house, purrr is another word for love.

double embossed card

here's a card I made the other day using a technique I learned on youtube!
The stamp in the center is a new studio g clear stamp I got at Archivers. At the top of the white panel, is a piece I used the Martha Stewart Icicle punch on and then added snow glitter. Any questions, please email me at jenmac82005@aol.com

enabler ALERT! Today I found at Michaels a great deal on a punch, made by Jolees, located on the Jolees Beads display, a star punch for 99 cents! Regular price was 9.99! There was also an apple and a flower shape for the same price. They are meant to be used to cut out a photo and put the cutout in a little charm, the charms of these shapes were also on sale for 99 cents! Tried it, works great on cardstock! Check with your local Michaels to see if they had any at this price!

My first card I made in my new craft room!

I needed a card for a sweet lady at church that gave us a gift for our new home. I love this little birdie! Isn't he cute?! Thanks for reading my blog!

This card was inspired by the Creating Keepsakes Dec 2008 magazine article "A very vintage christmas". There they used these heather bailey papers that are spring colors, and by pulling out the green in them and enhancing with the traditional green and red, you get a vintage look. I got my idea from the card on p.69. I hand cut the holly. The label panel (the one that looks like nestabilities LABELS 1) is actually a table marker from the wedding section at Michaels! I inked the edge of this shape and added red dots with a gel pen, then stickles.I kinda like the way this turned out! see, even flowery spring paper can be used for christmas! I'm trying to "think outside of the box" ! whatcha think of this card?
